As you can see if you read some of the posts on this site, there are people who believe it wrong to be engaged in a battle with Satan. They ask if it’s biblical and wonder where the precedent lies. I have several examples to share with you but first let me be clear about fighting with Satan.

There is no way to fight with Satan or his associates and win. Well, almost no way. There does exist one certain Avenue of victory in the fight against Satan. Can you recall someone who in their own strength was able to fight Satan and win? Here is a passage that may help you:

Eph 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

God has power over Satan and demons and things evil. But the question to answer is this: who is able to fight Satan and win? Not me. Not you. Not the evangelist on TV. Only God can fight Satan and win. Oh, and those on whom He bestows this power. “His incomparably great power for us who believe.” How much power? “Power and strength that is above, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion…” That’s a lot! That’s the most there is. Period.

Then this verse says that power, described above is “for us who believe”. I believe. Do I have that power? No. But if God is in me, the power is in me. His power for Him to work through me. Not of myself because in myself there is nothing good…except Christ which is God in me. Therefore I do not have the power or the strength to fight with Satan…but God does. In fact his power is certain as described below:

Ro 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Better read that verse again. It says that God will soon crush Satan. So we know who is stronger. But look one more time. It says He will crush Satan under your feet. Your feet? How can God use your feet to crush Satan? Herein lies our secret. God is going to defeat Satan through you. Your weakness, his strength. Go figure.
