Witch, Brujo or Bruja, Shaman, Demon; Satan’s Workers?

Have you ever thought about witches and witch doctors (brujos or brujas or shaman in Guatemala), demons or other ungodly entities, what they stand for and what they do? Rest assured they are not on God’s payroll. They are workers for Satan, directly or indirectly and he accomplishes much through their efforts. We glorify these entities in many ways in our society and we teach our children many unfortunate things through seemingly innocent channels. We do all this while at the same time limiting those things that come from God meant to teach us invaluable lessons for our edification and blessing.
The following macabre story comes from a man living in Guatemala who insists it is all true. But can we believe it? I invite you to read with an open mind this story and then comment as to the veracity you believe is contained therein. You may believe or disbelieve but it will cause you to think. That I promise you. And rest assured, we will tie this all back in to these evil entities above.
One night in a home located on the side of a volcano overlooking beautiful Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, a family retired for the evening. The man from whom the story comes opened the door going out to the deck of his third story bedroom before retiring into his bed with his wife. There was no screen or closure of any kind in the doorway but this is common in Guatemala and a common practice for this man.
About 2:30 in the morning the man and his wife were awakened by a phone call. Jumping out of bed the man quickly finds the phone and answers it only to find no one there. 10 minutes later the phone rings again with the same outcome. The man shuts the phone off and returns to bed, where his wife questions him as to who was calling. After talking for a bit about the phone call the wife tells her husband that a few hours prior to the phone ringing, she was awakened by a noise which turned out to be a good sized blackbird flying around the bedroom. She immediately turned on the light only to watch the bird disappear out the door as quickly as it had entered.
The story is all the more bizarre as the man explains that his wife can sleep through anything but that he is generally awakened by any noise or out of place occurrence during his sleep. However in this situation, he had no idea that the occurrence described above ever took place.
The story takes on more interest when the man explains that he had been doing some work investigating witches, brujos and brujas, witch doctors and witchcraft, demons and other Satanic entities. He then describes a rather bizarre incident just a few days before the bird flew into the bedroom. It seems that his office is in this same bedroom and while working he noticed a blackbird, about the size of a small crow flying in front of the door. The bizarre thing was that it would flutter around to remain in front of the door for a few seconds, and then fly off. It was exactly as if its sole intent was to look inside the room for some unforeseen reason.
The man goes on to say that during his investigation of the witches, brujos and brujas, witch doctors and witchcraft, demons and other Satanic entities, he’d come across some references to the blackbirds and their use with these entities. It seems that satanic entities have the ability to occupy or change into these birds to accomplish various functions including spying and delivering spells designed for one or more of the occupants of the house. One such article specifically stated that when a blackbird flies into a house, someone in that house is going to die.
I can see some of you (just a figure of speech, I have no powers to see you now) starting to chuckle in your disbelief. Others are just reading for the interest of the story, not feeling the need to believe or disbelieve. But this man claims that every word is the truth. Again I invite you to comment afterwards and describe how you feel. For now, read the rest of the story.
A few days following these events, the man and his family drove home to find a baby bird in the driveway of the house they occupy. Upon driving just a few inches from the bird and seeing no movement the man and his wife and five-year-old son were somewhat surprised to find that the small, clumsy baby bird was indeed alive. A box was secured and the baby bird was quickly adopted by the five-year-old son who went about finding dry grass for the birds bed and bugs to feed the bird for its dinner. When the man’s 11 year old daughter returned home from an activity she joined in the excitement of the five-year-old as they cared for and “adopted” this baby bird.
The next morning the man awoke to find his five-year-old son standing at the base of the stairs, crying because he had went to the garage and found that the baby bird had died in the night. The bird was buried by the two children and the man returned to his third story office to do some work. Once again for the second time in three weeks he noticed that the fluttering of wings could be heard directly outside the door of his bedroom\office. Upon walking outside to investigate he could see the tail feathers of a blackbird sitting directly above the door. As he exited it quickly flew away.
Please have the courage to comment briefly to let everyone know what you think about this post. First, is it true? Then, do these things have any significance to each other; the phone calls, the bird in the bedroom, the bird outside the door, and the baby bird in the driveway? Is there a tie to any of the evil entities referenced above, the witches, brujos and brujas, witch doctors and witchcraft, demons or other Satanic entities?
Thank you for reading this story. This is part one of a three-part series which will either leave you in stunned disbelief or in stunning comic relief. You decide.
Remember, please comment. Then, go on to Satan’s Workers; Blackbird Part II

Fear of Demons and Satan; a Joke?
This post is general in nature because I need to speak to the skeptics out there about demons (satan's workers) and fear.
Things That Go Bump in the Night
This was written from Guatemala in July of 2005
Well, another strange report from Guatemala! There seem to be so many lately.

If this story were just that, a story, it could be turned into a movie as a sequel to Alfred Hitchcocks “The Birds”. I have a name to suggest: “The Blackbird”. Regarding the context and spiritual implications, this is an area where one needs to be spiritually prepared! This is a topic for only those of the strongest faith, great humility, and complete trust in God! This is the true ongoing war in this world.

I got goosebumps when I read that a black bird flying into a house means someone in that house is going to die. I do believe in evil spirits and think this is nothing to mess around with.

Can’t say directly whether it’s false, as to say it’s false would imply some sort of knowledge I don’t have. Perhaps part II will shed more LIGHT on this?

I think when you look into demonic things you need to be grounded in the Word. You have to know what you believe and know it from your heart not just your head. It is very scary but at the same time very exciting to see how God delivers people from this.

I live at the lake. I have been sick like never before in my life and so is my girlfriend. We begin to have problems between us. For various reasons, we believe that there is foul play here. I found your site because I am trying to investigate about witchcraft around the lake and Maximon (which is a common practice of brujeria around Guatemala). Any online reading you suggest? (sorry, i’m not leaving my name and contact, I am paranoid)

Hi friend,
I’m going to call you ‘Lake Atitlan Friend’, Friend for short. As you can see by our site our work in this area has officially just begun. But the experiences we have been having for all of our four years in Guatemala.
As you can see our work is God driven and Bible based so I would obviously start you out there. The Bible has more stories of witches, possession and evil spirits than you can shake a stick at (don’t start shaking any sticks, it might be misconstrued!)
What is your background? What are you looking to accomplish and how?
I will be praying for you Friend.
